The International Dyslexia Association provides a forum where parents, educators, individuals with dyslexia and researchers share their knowledge about a disorder that affects up to 20 percent of the U.S. population. From Words to Works: Developing Writing SkillsWhen: Saturday, September 26, 2009 – 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Where: Kirkwood Training and Outreach Services; 3375 Armar Drive; Marion, Iowa
This hands-on workshop explores useful strategies for developing students’ writing skills. This presentation includes list generation, grammar, sentence creation, paragraph development, and proofreading and revising techniques. Participants learn a structured, sequential approach to developing students’ writing skills. They practice with the various teaching strategies introduced and learn techniques they can apply the very next day in their classrooms.
College credit available through Mt. Mercy College. More details to follow.
